Rabbit Holes

Every rabbit hole leads somewhere worth going.

The Story

Rabbit Holes is an autobiographical work of fiction — a fictionalized memoir of sorts. It’s a mix of my life’s lived-in experience: the challenges and the rewards. Its characters are larger-than-life reflections of myself and what I hold most dear — my children: Carter, Cole, and Delanie — and not to be left out, my magical niece Rylie.

This story, I hope, is in a way a legacy — something my children and their children can remember me by.

The Message

This is a story about life. About life’s rabbit holes — the ones that often seem frivolous and unproductive, but in the end are where we build ourselves. Where we declare who and what we are.

It is a message about chasing the muses as obligation. It is creating. It is imagining fantastical worlds. It is about bringing light, hope, and good faith into a world constantly in turmoil and full of darkness.

The World

Wabbit Woods acts as the center of all magic across my game universes. It is an in-between place, very much inspired by C.S. Lewis’s The Wood Between the Worlds in the Narnia Chronicles.

It is purely coincidental that our main character, Lion, is a lion — this is actually a reference to Conan. But the lion persona fits.

The rabbit holes scattered throughout the wood represent the many different worlds I create. These holes, however, are not stable. Lion must investigate and restore balance across these worlds. But Lion will need help — and that’s where our merry little troupe of children come in.

The Method

There is very little here that isn’t done with intent. I hope to combine story and art through an AI-generated process — exploring the story, its arcs, its character progression, its messages. This will be a living body of work until I declare otherwise.

I hope you enjoy!
